Welcome Back Red Class

As we arrived into the Forest area today, we found 2 ducks swimming on our pond! The children watched them calmly and quietly. We wondered if they had made a nest somewhere… As well as the ducks moving in, the children noticed how different the forest area looked- “It’s more green” “There are more butterflies”.

The rest of the session was all about imaginative games and tyre rolling today.

Roots, shoots and newts!

A wonderfully calm and peaceful afternoon with Red Class. The children enjoyed identifying trees by looking at the shape of their leaves, digging for roots under the soil and pond dipping. At the end we shared our favourite moments and talked about different feelings we might have had during the session. The children were amazing at talking about how they felt and identifying things that made them feel calm, worried or excited. A special thank you to George’s mum for coming to help us today.

Orange Class- Brilliant Bug Hunters

It was a beautiful, sunny winter’s afternoon in the forest. Orange Class were keen climbers, bird spotters, bug hunters and collectors today. Some of us made some detailed observations of the birds we saw. Bugs today included a snail named “Shelly” and a millipede! We were very responsible and made sure to return all creatures to their natural habitats. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed today and a wonderful time was had by all. 🐌🐦🌳☀

Smiley Faces and Sticky Fingers

Campfire s’mores were the order of the day. Smiley faces and sticky fingers all round! Orange Class have come so far in their Forest School sessions, with everyone confidently and independently toasting their marshmallows today. The children chatted happily whilst around the campfire, helped each other and reminded each other of our fire safety rules.
