Green Class were so excited to get back to Forest School today. They loved exploring the forest area and playing with their friends. We’ve had lots of requests for campfire cooking next week…
Today was such a fantastic session. The weather was chilly but beautiful. The children enjoyed their first campfire toasting as well as making dens with the new tarpaulins, pegs and ropes purchased for Forest School by the Friends of Sutton Infant School. Someone said “This is like REAL camping!” Miss Villalba took lots of photographs! Thanks to Luca’s and Elsie’s mums for helping today and of course to all of the parents who have volunteered so far.
It was a beautiful, sunny winter’s afternoon in the forest. Orange Class were keen climbers, bird spotters, bug hunters and collectors today. Some of us made some detailed observations of the birds we saw. Bugs today included a snail named “Shelly” and a millipede! We were very responsible and made sure to return all creatures to their natural habitats. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed today and a wonderful time was had by all. 🐌🐦🌳☀
A wonderfully calm and peaceful afternoon with Red Class. The children enjoyed identifying trees by looking at the shape of their leaves, digging for roots under the soil and pond dipping. At the end we shared our favourite moments and talked about different feelings we might have had during the session. The children were amazing at talking about how they felt and identifying things that made them feel calm, worried or excited. A special thank you to George’s mum for coming to help us today.
